Jack J. Pfalzgraf, 82 of Lewisville, passed away August 23 at the Monroe County Care Center.
He was born at Woodsfield, Ohio on October 16, 1932, the only child of the late Beatrice (Ward) Harkins of Caldwell and the late Fred Pfalzgraf of Clarington. He was raised by his maternal grandparents Earl and Stella (Jones) Ward of Woodsfield.
Jack was a retired employee of Ohio Bell Telephone Co, now AT & T with 36+ years. He also worked for Master’s Garage and the Woodsfield Ice and Creamery. He was a special deputy for Tink Sulsberger, Monroe County Sheriff.
He was a member of the Lewisville Church of Christ, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, having served 14 months in Germany, a member of the American Legion, Post #87. He also was a member of the Monroe Water Systems Board for several years, Monroe County Historical Society, and he served on the Monroe County Fair Board for 22+ years, having held offices of Secretary and Treasurer. He was always interested in sports and was very active in the Skyvue Athletic Boosters and the French Fry stand at the fair. He loved gardening, wood working, and deer hunting. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Truax) whom he married June 3, 1956, three children, Stacey Lucas, Caldwell, Angie (Tim) Stimpert, Lewisville and Kris (Heidi) Pfalzgraf, Cameron, seven grandchildren, Jennifer Weckbacher, Lewisville, Robbie (Erica) Lucas, Ottawa, Ohio, Jeremy Stimpert, Berea, Ohio, Aaron Lucas, Columbus, Karigan, Kansas & Karson Pfalzgraf, Cameron. Three great grandchildren, Remington & Riley Weckbacher and Aubrey Lucas.
Friends will be received at the Bauer and Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio from 4-8:00 Friday, Aug. 28 with the funeral Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Kris Pfalzgraf will be officiating. Internment will follow in Friendship Cemetery, Lewisville with Military services observed.
