James Luebbers
James Dale Luebbers, 76, of Collinsville, Ill., born Jan. 23, 1935, died at 2:25 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Mr. Luebbers was for many years the distributor for both the St. Louis Post and the Collinsville Herald. He had served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956, and was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville, Ill.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Francis Mae, nee White, Luebbers; two brothers, Bill and Ben Luebbers; father-in-law, Elmer Nicol; sister-in-law, Jeanette Powell; and brother-in-law, John Nicol.
Surviving are his wife, Joan, nee Nicol, Luebbers of Collinsville, Ill., whom he married on May 23, 1954; daughters, Barbara (Chuck) Toennies of Troy, Ill., and Nicole (Philip) Hartman of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, E.J. Boone, Kaitlyn and Andrew Cates, Zackary and Brody Hartman, Molly, Alex, and Emily Toennies; sister, Doris Lonski of Caseyville, Ill.; mother-in-law, Margaret Nicol; brother-in-law, Kenny Powell; and sister-in-law, Martha Nicol.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Tony Minear officiating. Following family request, cremation was done.
