  [S927] Obituary. GREENWOOD ? Roger L. Mandery, 69, of Greenwood, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at his home. He was born June 23, 1944 in Omaha to Melvin and Emma (Cole) Mandery. He grew up and attended school in the Falls City area. He married Patsy Sue Portrey in Falls City on April 12, 1963. Their family moved to Greenwood in 1971. He loved to go to car shows and take his family camping. He was a big supporter of Ashland-Greenwood High School athletics. He enjoyed Nebraska football and watching the David Letterman Show. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patsy Mandery; children and spouses, Donald and Maria Mandery of Altus, Okla. and Rhonda and Kenny Ford of Ashland; grandchildren and spouses, Russell Ford, Kendra Ford, John and Megan Mandery and Donalyn and Jeremy Diaz; great-grandchildren, Luke Mandery and Calvin Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Nancy Mandery of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; sister, Carol Cidlik; brother-in-law and spouse, Dennis and Charlott Portrey of Omaha and sister-in-law, Betty Massey of Falls City. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant grandchild. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Ashland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Ewton officiating. Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Marcy Chapel in Ashland. Interment will be at a later date. Arrangements by Marcy Mortuary, Ashland.
