C. E. SMITHBURGER
Clarence E. (Sky) Smithburger, Sr., 65, of Fulda, Noble County, died at 5:40 p.m
Monday (Sept 16) in Good Samaritan Hospital ending a nine-month illness. Mr.
Smithburger was born Jun 1, 1903 at Harriettsville, a son of Edward and Anna
Burkhart Smithburger. He was a retired mechanic, trustee for Enoch Township in
Noble County, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Holy Name
Society of Fulda.
Surviving are his widow, the former Clara Hohman, three daughters, Mrs. Roger
(Rita) Eppley of 936 Laurel Avenue, Mrs. Ronald (Annette) Schafer of 1192 Lakeview
Drive and Miss Elaine Smithburger of Newark, N.J.; two sons, Clarence Jr. of Pickerington
and Robert of Pataskala; 13 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. J.W. Porter of Glasgow, Ky.
Two brothers, Orlando and Leo, are deceased.
The body was taken to Estadt Funeral Home in Caldwell where friends may call and
where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Thursday in St. Mary's Church with burial in the church cemetery.
