Haversen Silvia Saling [S927] Obituary. Our beloved mother, Agnes Annaliese Elisabeth Wendel Neverson, (aka Anne) entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in Modesto, California. She was born on January 5, 1943, in Semecourt/ Lothringen, France to Karl and Katherine Wendel of Gossersweiler-Stein, Germany. She married Bernard A. Neverson and moved from Germany at a very young age filled with extraordinary guile and tenacity overcoming all obstacles she faced while making a life for her family. She was self-educated, graced with infinite knowledge and had compassion for all people. She retired after 45 years in retail in the Petersburg area. She had a boundless love for her children and grandchildren, always seizing the opportunity to be part of their lives, which was the most treasured time of her life. She fulfilled her passion of cooking and traveling to many places with her family. She was an avid sightseer collecting souvenirs wherever she went. She especially loved going to the snow-capped mountains in Colorado and Switzerland and spending time on the beaches in Virginia and North Carolina. She admired the lights of big cities and enjoyed wrestling with the "one-arm bandits". Christmas was her favorite holiday and she always had a gift for the unexpected guest. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and brothers, Franz, Hans, Otto, Eduard, Karl, Alois and Eugen. Left to treasure her precious memories are three sisters, Maria Fick (Rudolph), Kunda Ehrhardt and Resel Kühn, all of Germany; three children, Michael (Mishelle) of Tracy California, Jackie Jefferson (Curtis) of Prince George, VA, and Evelyn Neverson of Petersburg, VA; 11 grandchildren, Lashay, Marquis, Catoria, Michaela, Jazmyn, Jasmine, Kierra, Shayla, Richard, Kasten, Kayla; two great-grandchildren, Jahari and Sena; and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, friends and neighbors. Others left to cherish her memory are Sadie Chandler (Henry) Lantana, FL, Bernice Neverson of Brooklyn, NY, Ann Denson (Dennis) of Columbus GA, Booker T. Neverson (Marie) of Petersburg, VA, Linwood Neverson (Louise) Long Island, NY, Preston Neverson (Annette) Coney Island, NY, James Neverson (Doris) Carrollton, GA. A very special acknowledgement to a very caring and nurturing nephew Alex Kühn. She was also preceded in death by a very loving and devoted lifelong friend, Mrs. Rita Fagan. A memorial/wake service will be held March 14, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home on Sycamore Street in Petersburg, VA.
