  [S927] Obituary. Florence Irene West Florence Irene West, 92, of 614 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, died at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 24, 2004) at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born July 14, 1912, in Marr, Monroe County, to Jacob J. and Lenora Smithberger Nieb. She was a seamstress for J.C. Penny in Marietta, where she retired in 1977. She graduated from Bethel High School in 1930. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church; a 50-year member and a charter member of Masterton Eastern Star Chapter 584; a 50-year member of Waterford Grange 231; and a member of Washington County Farm Bureau Women's Committee and Wolf Creek Farm Bureau Council. She was a Washington County 4-H advisor and a Washington County Election Board poll worker. She is survived by two daughters, Joanne West of Marietta and Charlotte Hendricks and her husband, John, of Marietta; four grandsons, Scott Hendricks and his wife, Jennifer, of Marietta, Todd Hendricks of Marietta, Allen Bookman and his wife, Claire, of Lakewood, Ohio, and Kevin Bookman and his wife, Stephanie, of Marietta; one great-grandson, Oliver Roy Hendricks of Marietta; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Austin and Andrew Hackney; and one sister-in-law, Cecile M. Jeffers of Marietta. On Dec. 23, 1933, she married Roy Jennings West, in Lewisville, Ohio. He died on Sept. 17, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sandra Bookman, who died on Jan. 5, 1992; and three sisters, Wilma Nieb, Mabel Rohrer and Beulah Williams. Services are at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Evangelical Church, Fifth and Scammel streets, Marietta, with Steve Dennis officiating. Burial is in Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hadley Funeral Home, Reno Chapel. There will be Eastern Star services at 8 p.m. Thursday.
