Dorothy Marie Plamondon Died December 24, 1999 LAKE LEELANAU - Dorothy Marie Plamondon, 80, of Lake Leelanau, died Friday at Cherry Hill Haven Foster Home in Traverse City. Born Feb. 11, 1919, in Lake Leelanau, she was the daughter of Lorin and Gertrude (Schaub) McNiel. On Nov. 16, 1940, in Lake Leelanau, she married Robert Joseph Plamondon Sr. A lifelong resident of Lake Leelanau, Dorothy's life was devoted to her 10 children, 34 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed hobbies such as cross-stitching, reading, gardening and camping. Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Parish. Survivors include nine children, Marlin, Mona Rice, Ken, Erinie, Catharine Skeba, Gregory, Stephen, Rebecca Miller, and Todd; two sisters, Margaret and Theresa; and three brothers, Gerald, Arthur, and Leonard. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on May 4, 1998; a son, Robert E. Jr.; two brothers, Jamie and Lawrence; a sister, Cecelia; and two grandchildren, Brian and Kim. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Martinson Funeral Home in Suttons Bay; a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church; the Rev. Jerry Hunko will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Grand Traverse Area Hospice, the Alzheimer Association, or St. Mary's Church.
