  [S927] Obituary. Obituary, New Castle News, December 16, 1972, Frank M. McCarthy: Ellwood City - Frank Michael McCarthy, 71 of 2518 W. Jefferson Ave., Springfield, Illinois, formerly of 423 Spring Ave., died at 1:30 p.m. yesterday in Springfield after an extended illness. He was born in Wampun on Nov. 13, 1901 to the late Michael and Margaret Minchin McCarthy. He was retired from Ellwood City and Gary Indiana, work of the U.S. Steel Corp. Mr. McCarthy was married to the former Lucy Slevin who preceded him in death in 1935. He is survived by a son Michael Francis of Honolulu, Hawaii; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary Ellen) Garcia of Honolulu and Mrs. Larry (Maryln) Costello of Springfield, Illinois; a brother William of Ellwood City; a sister Miss Mary McCarthy of Ellwood City and five grandchildren. Friends will be received at the P.O. Funeral Home, 123 Fifth St., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. A Mas of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Agatha Church by the Rev. Donald Voelker. Burial will be in the St. Agatha Cemetery.
