Knapp, 69, died Saturday at his home.Born Dec. 5, 1928, in Randolph, he was the son of Oscar and Ollie Knapp. Mr. Knapp's career in the construction industry spanned 47 years. He rose from equipment operator to division manager of the heavy highway group at Ruhlin Company in Akron. He was a life member of St. Peter of the Fields Church in Rootstown. He was well-known in the civic community, a devoted family man, and he enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Dias), to whom he was married for 44 years; sons, Randall (Vickie) of Lima, Jeffrey (Lori) of Atwater, Daniel (Allison) of Sarasota, Fla., Kurtis (Judy) of Barberton, Stephen (Jennifer) of Suffield, and Bradley of University Heights; daughters, Mrs. Lee (Bonnie) Jenior of Rootstown, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Larson of Medina and Mrs. Craig (Linda) Edington of Rootstown; 16 grandchildren; brothers, Paul, Richard, and Raymond; and sisters, Edna Nuzzo, Alice Mattes, Mary Jane Knapp, Betty Sorboro, and Rosemary Kintz. His son, John, brothers, Roy and William, and sister, Dorothy, died previously. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel.
