  [S927] Obituary. Gutheil, Edna M. Gutheil nee Nieb Marietta Times, Marietta, Ohio, dated, February 4, 2009 Edna M. Gutheil, 95, of Miller Avenue, Marietta, passed away peacefully at 4:25 p.m. Monday (Feb. 2, 2009) at Heartland of Marietta. She was born July 13, 1913, in Monroe County to the late John and Elena Pabst Nieb. She graduated from Bethel High School in 1932, and later worked at J.C. Penney's and the Marietta College book store. Edna was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Marietta, and enjoyed animals, especially cats and birds, and all that nature had to offer. She also enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She married Lawrence Gutheil on Aug. 7, 1941, and they lived in Marietta since 1946. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence (Feb. 2, 2001); sisters, Elsie Lendra Unger, Ethel Freda Miller, Estha Luella Warren, Elma Victoria Parks and Effie Irene Knowlton; and a brother. Paul Edward Nieb. Edna is survived by several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., with Pastor Tom Hendershot officiating. Burial to follow at Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
