Doris Marguerite Mosbrucker age 95, of Aberdeen, Idaho, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2011, due to complications of advanced Alzheimer’s disease. The staff at Pocatello Care and Rehab Center were wonderful medical caregivers for many years. Doris was born May 1, 1916, to Mae and Oscar Peters in St. Paul, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm in Forest City, Iowa, and spent most of her childhood working in the fields with horses. In 1936, she moved 325 miles to Minnesota with her six siblings, a loaded truck, a calf and mother, and a dog in a Model T. Doris loved life on the farm and quickly learned to drive a tractor to help her family. The next year, at age 21, she served as the backbone for her family when her mother passed. In 1942, the family moved to Bowman, North Dakota where they raised sheep. Doris married Albert Mosbrucker on October 12, 1944 and they had two children, Sylvia and Gerald. The family moved to Aberdeen in 1956. She worked in potato processing for 10 years and operated the laundry mat in Aberdeen for 16 years. She took good care of her family and pets. She did her own lawn mowing and enjoyed her trips to Jackpot and Fort Hall. She prided herself for buying a new car on her 75th birthday, just as her Grandpa Smith had done. Survivors include: a sister, Helen Anderson, two brothers, Eugene (Laura) Peters, and Paul Peters. Two children, Gerald (Sandy) Mosbrucker and Sylvia Gunter. Five grandchildren: Tanya (Carl) Michael, Steven (VeLisa Dopp) Clark, Amanda (Ramon) Merez, Pamela and Deborah Mosbrucker. Six great-grandchildren: Miranda and Ryan Dopp, Zachary Clark, Rachel Aquiliar, Anna Marie Merez, and Ashlee Michael. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Albert (in 1983), and two brothers, Emery and Tom Peters. Memorial services will be held on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 3:00 PM in Aberdeen’s cemetery under direction of Davis Mortuary, where Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband, Albert.
