Birth: 1915 Death: 2006 Rita Marie Malone Wagner, 91 ZANESVILLE -Rita Marie Malone Wagner, 91, of Zanesville, died at 7:46 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at her residence in Zanesville, following a lengthy illness. She was born Friday, Nov. 12, 1915, in Zanesville, the daughter of Nicholas Joseph and Genevieve Geraldine (Burkhard) Malone. She married John W. Wagner, Sr. on Saturday, April 23, 1949, and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Rita had been employed as a secretary for Good Samaritan Hospital, the War Department in Washington D.C., and in Germany, The General Electric Company and J.C. Penney. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her husband, of the home, Rita is survived by five children, Timothy Dale (Shirley) Wagner of Zanesville, Genevieve "Genny" (Charles) Wells of Lower Salem, John W. (Linda) Wagner II of Zanesville, Rosemarie (Chris) Gobeli of Columbus and Melanie (Lin) Avendano of Zanesville; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four brothers, Joe (Marsha) Malone, Mike (''Skip'') Malone, Jim (Sue) Malone and Pat Malone; two sisters, Clara Synan, and Alma Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Regina Quinn and Mary McCarty, and one great-grandchild, Anthony Long. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, with a Christian Vigil Service being held at 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at St.Nicholas Catholic Church with Father. Robert Kitsmiller as celebrant. Burial will be at Mount Olive Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to Genesis Morrison House Hospice in Rita's name.
