MARY ELLEN BURKHART, 95 years young died Tuesday, April 12, 2011. She was born in Shadyside, Ohio on November 27, 1915 a daughter of the late Joseph and Ellen Hixenbaugh Burkhart. She joined her mother and father and her siblings, Ed, Bert, Besse, Sis, Skinner, Fritz, Dot, Casey, Pruney and her niece, Betty. Mary was a member of the Licoln Avenue United Methodist Church in Shadyside and will be fondly remembered by her friends for her many years at the former Landau Pharmacy and the Shadyside Pharmacy. Her loving kindness, happy smile and compassion will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews and her many friends. Goodbyes can be expressed at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm where services will be held on Saturday at 11 am with the Rev. Randy Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.
