- LIMA COURT HEARS GUILTY PLEA
IN FATAL AUTO ACCIDENT ON RT. 15
A plea of'guilty to a charge
- of reckless driving was entered
. in Lima Justice Court Sunday
by James C. Brown, 28, 100
Magnolia St , Rochester, following
a two-car crash on Rt.
15 in which Mrs. Delores Hennekey
of Rochester was killed
and several Buffered injuries.
Justice Harold . Hennessy
r' sentenced Brown yesterday to
SO days in jail and $100 fine
'. or an added 100 days for reckless
driving and SO days in jail
• for inadequate brakes.
The accident occurred at
9:55 a.m., according to Trooper
. Walter Purcell of Avon Substation,
when the convertible
driven by Mrs.- Hennekey was
struck from behind by another
. southbound auto, driven by
Brown. The impact sent Mrs.
Hennekey's car-into a spin and
it turned over in a ditch, pinning
her beneath. Two passengers,
her daughter Christine.
18. and a hitchhiker, Wayne J.
Rogers, 22, of Caledonia, were
thrown clear, as the car overturned.
They ^ were taken to
' Strong Memorial Hospital,
, where Christine was reported
in satisfactory condition with
cuts and bruises and Rogers
was discharged after treatment.
Four passengers in. Brown's
car. suffered "cuts and bruises.
General Pershing-Montgomery,
.'' 45, and W. £ . Wilson, 44, both'
:. of South Lima, were treated by
-^ a private physician

37, both of Rochester, were
treated at Strong.
According to Mrs. Hennekey's
husband, John Hennekey,
operator of Irondequolt Dairy,
his wife and daughter had just
returned from a trip to the
Shrine of St. Ann de Beaupre
near Montreal, traveling by bus
since Mrs. Hennekey "had been
afraid of the traffic and especially
the way some people
drive. ... " When they arrived
home, the rest of the family
were at their Conesus Lake
cottage and a car had been left
.for their trip to join the family.
En route, apparently, the
accident occurred.
When Tropper Purcell reached
the scene a few minutes
after the crash, the car had
been pushed off Mrs. Hennekey
by the men in Brown's car and
passing motorists. She was pronounced
dead by Dr. James B.
Brown of .Livonia, Livingston
County coroner.
•Mrs. Hennekey, a Nazareth
College graduate, is survived
by her husband; five daughters,
Mrs. Kenneth Schnaufer ot Buffalo,
twins Kathleen and Christine,;
18, Dolores. 17; Alice, 14;
her father, Michael Willig; two
grandchildren. .

Brown's record shows

on two assault charges,
for public intoxication and for
Charles - being AWOL from military
