Josie DeLong Source: Newspaper clipping dated February 1986 Josie DeLong, 95, of Summerfield Rural Deliver 2, Ohio, died Monday morning, February, 24, 1986, at Barnesville Hospital after a short illness. She was born February 20, 1891, in Monroe County, Ohio, a daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Carpenter. Mrs. DeLong was a lifelong member of Calais Church. Her husband, Joseph M. DeLong, died December 13, 1951. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Buela) Ackerman of Lewisville, Ohio and Mrs. Betty Little of Cambridge, Ohio; three sons, Guy DeLong of Salesville, Ohio, Vance DeLong of Senecaville, Ohio and Donnie DeLong of Quaker City, Ohio; a sister, Civilla Carpenter of Dayton, Ohio; 43 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Neff-Brubach Funeral Home in Summerfield and one hour prior to services at 1 p.m. Thursday at Calais Church. Pastor Phil Golden will officiate. Burial will follow in Calais Church Cemetery. The family asks material tributes be made in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
