Birth: Sep. 12, 1902 Mitchell Davison County South Dakota, USA Death: May 8, 1983 Lodi San Joaquin County California, USA News Sentinel, Lodi, CA - 10 May 1983: Adolph Bender, 80, of Lodi died in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born in Mitchell S.D. and moved to Regan, N.D. with his parents at an early age. He married Lydia Zelmer in 1923 and the couple farmed near Wing, N.D. until coming to Lodi in 1950. Mr. Bender was then employed with Super Mold for seven years and went on to do carpentry work until his retirement in 1965. He enjoyed woodworking and bowling. Mr. Bender is survived by two daughters, Delores Geringer, Luella Victoria Bender, both of Lodi; two brothers, Jake Bender of Washington, Ed Bender of LaHabra; four sisters, Tillie Buffington of Iowa, Justina Ackerman of Washington, Emma Ashley, Theresa Schroeder, both of North Dakota. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Lodi Funeral Home with the Rev. James Holm of Vinewood Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery.
