Thomas A. Fletemeyer, 84
Thomas Alexander Fletemeyer, 84, formerly of Lafayette, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at St. Mary's Care Center in Madison, Wis.
Born April 26, 1921, in Lafayette he was a graduate of Jefferson High School and received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Indiana University. He was elected adjutant of the American Legion Post formed by veterans enrolled at the university.
He was a veteran, serving with the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He married Alma R. Eberle on Dec. 27, 1944, in Lafayette, and she survives. The couple resided in Lafayette prior to moving to Madison in 1985.
Mr. Fletemeyer was employed as a manager at Lafayette Credit Bureau for 22 years.
He was an avid reader and traveler, reading many books on military history and visiting several places including Europe, Russia and the Far East.
Surviving with his wife is a son, Thomas L. Fletemeyer (wife: Kathleen) of Madison.
