Miller, 87, of Miller Rd., Woodsfield, died Sept. 10, 2003, at Morgantown Trauma Center as a result of a tragic' farming accident. He was born in Monroe County, Nov. 2, 1915, a son of the late Leonard Miller and Anna Hughes Miller. He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg, and a retired carpenter of Local 186 of Steubenville. He was a member of Monroe County Farmers and Sportsman Association for many years. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and pitching horse­shoes and farming. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Ruth Anna Gallagher Miller, of Woodsfield; five sons, David H. Miller, of the home, Gregory Arthur Miller and friend, Barb Garey, of Woodsfield, Mark Leon Miller, Woodsfield, Alan Christopher Miller and his wife, Patti, of Stoutsville, Brett Joseph Miller and his wife, Wilda, of Woodsfield; five daughters, Mrs. Paul (Patricia) Rush, of Woodsfield, Mrs. Meredith (Linda) Kahrig, of Woodsfield, Mrs. James (Wanda) Monahan, of Barnesville, Marilyn Ruth Wells, of Wooster, Mrs. Jim (Kimberly) Johnston, of Powell; sister; Mrs. Elmer (Helen) Thonen, of Mt. Pleasant; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sis­ter, Eloise Archer; three broth­ers, Paul, Eugene and Henry Miller. Friends were received Sept. 12 at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield. Mass of Christian Burial was held Sept. 13 at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg, with Father David Gaydosik officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
