She was born in Zeeland, N.D., where she was reared and educated. She moved to Victor with her parents in 1935. She married Walter H. Pankow in 1937, and they made their home in the Lodi area. Mrs. Pankow was a member of the First Baptist Church, Women's Missionary Society of the church and Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 22. She enjoyed needlework and catering. She is survived by her husband, Walter H. Pankow of Lodi; a son, ElRoy R. Pankow of Anaheim; a brother, Riney Bender of Lodi; a sister, Eleanor Schmierer of Fresno; a stepbrother, Adolph Knoll of Lodi; four stepsisters, Bertha Kammerer and Ida Batch, both of Lodi; Mary Schultz of Elk Grove and Emma Grenz of Acampo, and two grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Lodi Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Aaron Buhler officiating. Internment will be at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery.
