FRIEDA OWENS KARST FRIEDA OWENS KARST, 86, formerly of Huntington, passed away Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital, Tampa, Fla. She married Fred E. Karst on May 16, 1970, in Louisville, Ky.; he died on Aug. 5, 1999. She was employed as office manager for Federal Sign Company, Louisville, Ky., retiring in 1970. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and the Rosary Sodality. She also attended St. Peter Catholic Church, Naples, Fla. She is survived by three sons, James P. (Cynthia) Karst and Terrence F. Karst, both Huntington, and Patrick A. (Evelyn) Karst of Markle; two daughters, Diane M. Karst and Kathleen A. Karst, both of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Karst; a brother, David Owens Jr.; a sister, Marion Tandy; and a grandson, Joshua Karst. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington, with Father Ron Reider officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at McElhaneyHart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, with recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m. Burial will follow service in Mt.
