  BIOGRAPHY: http://www.genealogy.com/users/c/h/r/David-Alan-Christianson/FILE/0004text.txt KATHERINA DAIS Katherina Dais Katherina Dais was born August 14, 1890 at Eureka, South Dakota to George and Christina Gohl Dais. Katherina was one of seven children. They are: Jacob, Katherina, John, George, David, Christ, and Martha. Their parents came to America in 1889 from Kluckstahl, South Russia. On December 7, 1911, Katherina and John C. Dais were united in marriage. John C. was born November 28, 1898 to Christof and Rosina Unruh Dais at Kluckstahl Russia and came to America with his parents. He had two sisters, Rosina married Jacob Dais and Katherina married Gideon Diede. Two children were born to Katherina and John, one son who died and one daughter, Emma, born October 5, 1913. She married Rudolph Hoeger. They farmed seven miles northeast of Eureka, South Dakota from 1911 until 1947. They then retired and made their home in Eureka. Her husband John C. died July 1, 1969 and Katherina lived by herself until 1979 when she moved to the Lutheran Rest Home where she is at the present year 1986 at the age of 96.
