Birth: Mar. 29, 1823, Germany Death: Apr. 13, 1895 Lewisville Monroe County Ohio, USA Christiana Margaretha Klink was born in Oberriexingen, Württemburg, Germany. She was the daughter of Johann Georg and Anna Margaretha Schneider Klink. She married a distant cousin, Jakob Friederich Bartenschlag, probably around 1851. They arrived in America, through the port of New York, in June 1856 on the Ship Vancluse. Their second daughter, Catherine Louisa Bartenschlag died at sea during the voyage. Fred and Christina settled for a time in Pittsburg, PA, where Fred worked in the steel mills until he lost an eye in an industrial accident. Thereafter, they moved to Monroe Co., Ohio and farmed for the rest of their lives. They Americanized their names to Fred Sr. and Christina Cling Bartenschlag.
